Purpose Computation of light scattered off arbitrary structured optical devices illuminated by incoming waves or interior sources (e. g. dipoles), cf. problem class light scattering. Computation of all three magnetic/electric field components without any model approximation.
Details Adaptive finite element solution with automatic error control and mesh refinement. The embedding of the computational domain into the possibly inhomogeneous exterior domain uses advanced rigorous transparent boundary conditions.
Features Copes with: arbitrarily shaped objects, e.g. extremely thin structures arbitrary materials isolated, periodic, semi-periodic structures inhomogeneous exterior domains (half spaces, layered media, etc.) Source fields: predefined: plane waves, Gaussian beams, point sources user defined: via DLL, Python scripts, Matlab scripts Post processes: transmission, reflection and polarization analysis Fourier analysis Pointing vector analysis
