Purpose Computation of resonance modes for isolated or periodic structures, cf. problem class optical resonances. Determining of resonance characteristics of isolated structures like resonance frequencies and Q-factors and computation of band diagrams of periodic structures. Computation of all three magnetic/electric field components without any model approximation.
Details Adaptive finite element eigenproblem solution with automatic error control and mesh refinement. Advanced subspace correction algorithms. Rigorous treatment of open and Bloch-type boundary conditions.
