Optical waveguide design

Problem class: Optical waveguide modes

JCMsuite contains the module JCMmode for the solution of optical waveguide problems i.e. the computation of waveguide modes (either the electric field, the magnetic field or both) and corresponding propagation constants. Waveguides are structures which are invariant in one spatial dimension (here z-direction) and arbitrarily structured in the other two dimensions. The figure below sketches as examples an optical fiber (left) and an integrad optical waveguide (middle). The application section waveguide modes shows numerous other waveguide structures.
