DampingΒΆ

Type:float
Range:[0, 1]
Default:-/-
Appearance:optional

An artificial damping is active in the shell region of a sub-domain which overlaps with the neighbouring domains. This parameter effectively shifts the local wave number by a factor (1+i \kappa) where \kappa is the damping value given by this parameter. The default value depends on the shell radius parameter ShellRadius. \kappa and the shell radius are adapted together so that an effective damping of a factor \mathrm{0.5} is reached at the outer boundary of the shell region.

If neither the damping parameter \kappa is set by the user, nor the shell radius ShellRadius and nor DomainDiameter, the damping is set to a 0.1.
