HOTSTEEL
Holistic Optimization and new Thermal Strategies for Energy-Efficient Logistics
Holistic Optimization and new Thermal Strategies for Energy-Efficient Logistics

The aim of HOTSTEEL is to develop new algorithmic and IT-based foundations for cross-process production planning in the steel industry. The project focuses on flexible planning models, AI-supported predictions of thermodynamic processes, powerful optimization methods, and simulation-based test environments. By combining these elements, we seek to reduce energy losses, improve the coordination of production processes, make material usage and production times more efficient, and contribute to the decarbonization of a globally important key industry.
JCMwave applies AI technologies to replace expensive thermal simulations with efficient surrogate models and in order to tune hyperparameters of discrete optimization methods.
