Multicore fiber single photon emitter module for quantum communication
In the project Multicore fiber single photon source, innovative quantum chips for quantum communication with high transmission rates are being developed. The modules consist of semiconductor-based single photon sources that are directly coupled to multicore optical fibers.
Within the project, JCMwave develops simulation models for the optical and thermal behavior of the module. The models are used to optimize performance, for example the coupling efficiency of single photon emitters to the multicore fiber.
